Hardware extensions for the YMBox.
Yachtmemory modules extend existing onboard electronics with additional sensors, analysis and active control.
Chain force sensor
The Yachtmemory chain force sensor measures the actual load on the anchor chain.
The measured chain force is stored locally in the YMBox and analyzed over the long term.
Together with wind, position, water depth and chain length, it creates a detailed picture of real anchoring loads for the first time.
The data provides the foundation for the Yachtmemory anchorage analysis.
The chain force sensor creates its own Wi-Fi network and can be accessed directly with a smartphone, tablet or notebook through a browser. It displays smoothed real-time values. The actual long-term analysis is created through the connection with the YMBox. This can be seen in the live demo.
Chain length sensor
The Yachtmemory chain length sensor records how much anchor chain is actually deployed.
Chain length is a key value for anchorage analysis. Only together with water depth, wind, position and chain force does it create a reliable picture of the anchoring situation.
The data is stored locally in the YMBox and can be analyzed in the onboard dashboard as well as in the YMPortal.
Yachtmemory can later recognize when and where the yacht was anchored, how large the swing radius was and what loads acted on the anchor chain.
Bilge sensor
The Yachtmemory bilge sensor monitors climate and water inside the bilge.
The sensor measures temperature and humidity in the bilge area and makes changes visible at an early stage.
Optionally, it can also measure water level and detect whether it is fresh water or salt water.
This turns the bilge from a difficult-to-monitor area into an integrated part of the Yachtmemory system.
Motion sensor
The Yachtmemory motion sensor turns the YMBox into a local alarm system.
The sensor detects movements on board and can trigger local alarm functions of the YMBox.
Yachtmemory therefore becomes not only a data and analysis system, but also an onboard security component.
With an available cloud connection, alarms can additionally be forwarded by email or later through other notification channels.
YM Switch Box
The YM Switch Box extends Yachtmemory with switching inputs and outputs.
It allows the YMBox to switch onboard devices on and off while also detecting whether they are actually active.
Typical applications include anchor lights, anchor alarms, refrigerators, bilge pumps or the high-voltage system of an electric catamaran.
Locally, the YM Switch Box works directly together with the YMBox. With cloud connectivity, selected functions can later also be controlled securely via web or smartphone.
